With Crumbl and Chip City moving into every empty store front, on seemingly every street of Long Island, it's hard not to want to compare. Or notice the troves of others store follow the cookie craze. Thin Cookies, Insomnia Cookies, Milk Bar and did I mention Crumbl?
Only the industry giant in the aforementioned cookie craze. The baking company to reinvigorate the market, with huge bakes, rotating every week. As a home baker, my kitchen and I weep at the mere thought. It's hard enough consistently adding menu items on a monthly basis. I can't imagine the mixer my mind would go through.
But who has the best cookie? It's nearly an impossible question to answer. Everyone has a different reason. "Crumbl is too basic, Insomnia is better."
Chip City is my go to personally. The fact that it sits on a warm plate really sells it for me. Walking out of the bakery, holding a warm box.
But the best cookie on Long Island doesn't come from a chain, or maybe even my bakery. It could be your own mothers kitchen. At the end of the day, the best cookie on Long Island is subjective. I'd like to think the desserts I make, the cookie especially are pretty great. And I wouldn't mind being recognized as one of the greats someday.
